About The Villages of Indiana

Our mission is to care for children, youth, and those who care for them.

For over 45 years, The Villages of Indiana has helped place hundreds of children in safe, permanent, and nurturing homes. As a Licensed Child Placing Agency through the State of Indiana, we offer adoption services for multiple types of domestic adoptions, as well as adoption from foster care. We are committed to helping children thrive in stable, loving homes, and we accomplish this goal by offering help however we can to our families.

Nicole

Vice President of Admissions and Adoption

Read Nicole’s Bio

Nicole Schultz is the Vice President of Admissions and Adoption. Nicole has worked for The Villages since 2006.  She has helped supervise and coordinate various types of adoptions over the last twenty years.  She has worked with numerous expectant mothers and adoptive families.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree with a dual major in Psychology and Criminology and a Master’s in Public Administration from Ball State University.  She enjoys traveling, exploring historic places, and spending time with her family. 

Heather

Private Adoption Clinical Director

Heather Angebrandt joined The Villages in Sept 2023 as the Private Adoption Clinical Director.  In this role she provides clinical guidance to staff working directly with adoptive and expectant parents.  Heather’s career has focused on serving children and families since 1995 in various roles. She is passionate about supporting parents in creating nurturing and loving environments for their children. Heather is a licensed Clinical Social Worker and holds a Master of Social Work degree from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Family Studies from Purdue University. Heather enjoys traveling and camping with her husband and spending time with her two children. 

Ellen

Adoption Care Expert

In her position, Ellen assists adoptive families with the completion of their home studies and related paperwork. She supports and helps prepare families for adoption, both before and after the home study process has been completed. She views the opportunity to come alongside families in their adoption journey as a joy and a privilege. Ellen has worked for The Villages for almost four years and is passionate about working diligently for the families she serves. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband, walking her dog, watching movies, and making her own clothes. 

Rai

Adoption Care Expert

As an Adoption Care Expert, Rai is dedicated to supporting expectant mothers through the adoption process with compassion and guidance. With a master’s degree in counseling and over two decades of experience in social services, Rai brings a wealth of knowledge and empathy to every client interaction.

Rai’s journey in social services began in 2004, and since then, she’s worked tirelessly to advocate for individuals and families in need. Whether providing counseling or offering support services, she is committed to ensuring the well-being of both expectant parents and adoptive families.

Outside of her professional life, Rai finds joy in traveling, capturing moments through photography, and cherishing every moment with her daughter. These passions enrich her work, reminding her of the importance of connection, empathy, and the beauty of every individual’s story.

Rai looks forward to supporting expecting mothers and adoptive families through this journey while providing care and understanding every step of the way.
